Meet the Team

Grip and Rip CrossFit was Established in 2015.  We are a Strength and Conditioning facility that uses the CrossFit methodology at its core. We believe in providing our clients with the absolute best coaching possible as well as helping them not only reach the fitness goals but push them past their personal  barriers and comfort zones to achieve more than they could ever dream. 

Our enthusiasm and love for CrossFit are second to none and we aspire to make your session the best hour of your day.

Kyle Howard

Co-Owner / Head Coach

CrossFit Level 1 certificate (2012)

CrossFit Level 2 certificate (2016)

CrossFit Gymnastics certificate.

Kyle started CrossFit in 2012.

Over 3 years coaching experience working under one of South Africa’s top CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting coaches, owner of  BST CrossFit, Hannes Du Toit and over a years experience running his own affiliate. 

Kyle has a strong sports background playing rugby at high club level in Australia and England and excelling at sports such as swimming, rugby, cricket and athletics at school level. 

Kyle competed at the 2014 CrossFit Africa Regional’s and competed in the South African Olympic Weightlifting Championships in that same year.

Ben Joubert

Ben started CrossFit in 2015
Ben has been playing sport and making it a priority of being fit, playing rugby(15 and 7’s) for the pumas and enjoying cricket, swimming and mountain biking.
Ben’s moto -” Nothing awesome happens in your comfort zone” has driven this passion for crossfit to learn about the methodology and broad spectrum of crossfit and is eager to excell in it the years to come, not only in performance but in coaching abilities.
